Developments in innovation of our two countries, and the world as a whole, have reached a level where it is necessary to devise common strategies and solutions in order for the economy to develop more effectively and to support the growth of production," Mr. Salamatov said.

The following organizations took part in the forum: the US Ministry of Trade, the US-Russian bilateral presidential committee, the National Institute of Standards and Technologies, the American National Standards Institute, the US-Russia Business Council, Underwriters Laboratories, the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, the Federal Agency on Technical Regulation and Metrology (Rosstandart) and Rossakreditatsia.

During the forum the audience was presented with a few examples of Russian and US best practices in the implementation of World Trade Organization agreements on technical barriers to trade and the proper enactment of normative regulation.

«We can see that working through the questions raised at this forum is not of a small importance to the US government. We can confidently say that we have reached a mutual understanding on all the questions and also have made big plans for collaboration on future projects," said Mr. Salamtov.
